Other Behavioural Assays
We offer a battery of behavioural observations and physiological measurements which can be used for behavioural phenotyping (transgenic animals); for the initial safety assessment of novel compounds (the Irwin Test) or for neurotransmitter-specific functional tests to evaluate the mode of action, efficacy or side-effect profile of a drug in vivo. Drugs (alone or in combination with a receptor agonist or antagonist) can be given by a variety of different routes (including non-surgical intracerebroventricular injection) and appropriate measurements are made. Blood and tissue samples can be collected for pharmacokinetic or neurochemical analysis if required.
