Postdoctoral Researcher – Renal Bioscience

Within the Sygnature Group, RenaSci are an expert provider of in vivo services to the global pharmaceutical industry. With continued growth, we are seeking to expand our Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) offering and are looking to employ a highly motivated, enthusiastic scientist to join the team.

The ideal candidate will have a PhD in renal biology with relevant post-doctoral experience in academia or industry and possess strong practical experience with emphasis on in vivo and ex vivo models alongside experience in cellular/molecular biology.

 

Key Skills and Requirements

  • PhD or equivalent in animal physiology, ideally in renal biology and have relevant post-doctoral experience in academia or industry
  • An excellent research background that will complement and enhance the existing strengths of the research group
  • Experience of in vivo and ex vivo study design
  • Good lab-based skills with emphasis on cellular biology techniques including Western blotting, qPCR, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, ELISA
  • Experience working under sterile conditions
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Good attention to detail and recording of experimental data
  • High levels of motivation
  • Ability to execute projects to tight timelines with the ability to adapt to rapid changes in project priorities
  • Some weekend working will be required

Desirable requirements

  • Home Office licence modules 1-4.
  • Experience of setting up recovery surgical models.
  • The ability to carry out in vivo work (e.g. surgical procedures, administration of substances, imaging and collection of tissues).
  • Knowledge of safety issues associated with the use of biological medicines (e.g. small molecules, antibodies, cell therapies).

Statistician

Statisticians at RenaSci form a core part of our offering to clients and are integral to the research we carry out. They support projects every step of the way, from initial project planning to final data analysis.

As part of our ongoing growth, we are looking for a Statistician to join the team. The ideal candidate will likely have relevant experience built in a similar statistics role, or substantial programming experience with an interest in applying it to statistics. They will have an MSc or PhD with considerable statistical content and computer programming skills. This work is highly specialised and is a key factor in delivering data of the highest quality to our clients. As such, training and development will be a key element for any new member of the statistics team.

Key Skills and Requirements

  • A good understanding of statistical modelling and experimental design
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to understand scientific concepts and explain statistical concepts to scientists
  • Experience in the use of statistical packages (e.g. SAS, R)
  • Good computer programming skills in any language, e.g. Excel VBA, SAS/AF, Python
  • Highly motivated
  • Interest or awareness in AI and IT applications in a pre-clinical setting
  • Creativity and curiosity with the ability to learn and apply new concepts quickly
  • Ability to interact effectively with a wide variety of scientists and individuals
  • An awareness of best practice in the planning of studies and the collation of data in order to meet scientific and ethical considerations

Scientist – Renal Bioscience

The Renal Biology team at RenaSci are growing, and are seeking to expand our CKD offering and by employing a highly motivated, enthusiastic person to join the team.

The ideal candidate will have a BSc with substantial professional experience preferably in industry and possess strong practical experience with emphasis on in vivo techniques alongside experience in cellular/molecular biology.

 

Requirements

  • This position requires a BSc degree in Biology or related field with substantial professional experience preferably in industry
  • The candidate should have strong organizational, interpersonal and time management skills, the ability to problem solve and work independently.
  • Ability to execute projects to tight timelines with the ability to adapt to rapid changes in project priorities
  • Home Office licence modules 1-4.
  • The ability to carry out in vivo work (e.g. surgical procedures, administration of substances, imaging and collection of tissues).
  • Good lab-based skills with emphasis on cellular biology techniques including tissue lysing, immunohistochemistry, ELISA;

Quality Officer

We are currently seeking a trainee Quality Officer to join the team at RenaSci in Nottingham.

 

The enthusiastic individual we seek will have a relevant life science qualification ideally combined with laboratory-based research experience, ideally within the CRO, pharmaceutical or biotechnology sector. Experience in a Quality Control and/ or Quality Assurance role is preferable and a working knowledge of Good Laboratory Practice will be a distinct advantage.

 

The successful candidate must be able to manage multiple tasks effectively in order to meet deadlines and must also have meticulous attention to detail.

 

POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

This position has a dual focus, on Quality Control and Quality Assurance:

 

Quality Control:

 

The successful candidate would be expected to build and maintain an understanding of all study types performed by RenaSci in order to be able to effectively fulfil this role, which will involve:

 

  • Perform QC checking of primarily non-GLP studies, as allocated by Management

 

Quality Assurance:

 

In this aspect of the role the objective is to provide independent assurance to management on matters of GLP compliance whilst also having a proactive approach to regulatory compliance. This aspect of the role will involve:

 

  • Assisting the QA Auditor in maintaining the GLP QA programme. This will involve performing audits and inspections on GLP drug abuse studies.

 

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND/OR EDUCATION REQUIRED:

 

  • Life Science graduate and/or equivalent quality management qualification / certification
  • Preferable experience in a laboratory environment operating under GLP

 

 

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

  • Previous experience of GLP is desirable
  • Able to deliver deadlines under pressure
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Diplomatic, polite and professional
  • Contribute positively to the team
  • Organised with excellent attention to detail
